Using Custom Templates

How to add custom templates into your copy of OpenOffice.org

  • Download a template and store it on your computer.
  • Click on File -> New -> Templates and Documents to open the “Templates and Documents” panel
  • Click on “Organise...” to access the “Template Management” panel.
  • Right click on “My Templates” and select “Import Template...”
  • Navigate to where you have saved the template and press “Open”.
  • The new template will now be visible within “My Templates”
  • Press “Close” to close the “Template Management” panel.
  • Press “Cancel” to close the “Templates and Documents” panel.

When you want to create a presentation based on this template:

  • Click on File -> New -> Templates and Documents to open the “Templates and Documents” panel
  • Click on the Templates icon on the Templates and Documents panel
  • Find the new template within “My Templates” and press “Open”
